In honor of the DVD/Blu-ray release of the summer’s best movie, I think it’s high time we make fun of all the awesomeness. While I absolutely loved every minute of The Avengers on the big screen (even shelling out the dough to see it three times), I have to admit that there are always those silly little things that you miss when you are just so in awe of all the amazing superheroes. Fortunately for me and everyone else, there is the Honest Trailers series from Screen Junkies. It seems designed to point out all the flaws in the film, from logical plot points, funny faces made by characters, and the fact that it only features the characters that Marvel owns in the movie (and doesn’t add other Avengers such as Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, or X-Men).

The Shawarma
I will say that despite the fun this trailer is having at nerds, it admits that criticism of this awesome flick is somewhat pointless because we just don’t accept it. The Avengers just looks so cool that it doesn’t matter that some things don’t add up. It’s just an enjoyable experience to watch a bunch of superheroes beat the crap out of each other (and some aliens), and when you add that to Joss Whedon’s amazingly funny dialogue you have movie gold. And I do mean gold literally, the film made $1,511,288,162 according to Box Office Mojo (that’s ONE BILLION DOLLARS!). It stands to make even more in it’s DVD release, especially since I will be purchasing it.
So without further ado, I give you the Honest Trailer for The Avengers. I hope you laugh as hard as I did. And if you don’t find this funny, there’s always the gag reel on the DVD. Enjoy:
What did you think of the video? Anyone want to admit that the Honest Trailer is actually telling the truth? What did you laugh at the most? Let’s start the discussion below!
