It’s a Smurf Invasion! Check out the New Trailer for ‘The Smurfs’

Alright guys and gals, the new trailer for The Smurfs premiered this afternoon. It’s comprised of a lot of the same footage we’ve seen from the first trailer with new tidbits thrown here and there. As far as the voices go, Papa and Smurfette’s voice sound almost nothing like the original cartoon, but who’s complaining. For one thing this film is apparently not for the original cartoon lovers, instead it’s geared to entertain the newer generations who are not as familiar with the version we all know and love.

I’m still young, but I can remember waking up really early to watch The Smurfs. If anything it’ll be interesting to see how these Smurfs differ from the Smurfs of the olden days. Check out the new trailer below and let us know what you think.

Directed by Raja Gosnell, The Smurfs stars Niel Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Hank Azaria, Jonathan Winters, Katy Perry, Alan Cumming, George Lopez, Paul Reubens, and Kenan Thompson. This film hits theaters July 29th, 2011.

The New ‘Green Lantern’ Trailer Is the Best Trailer of 2011 To Date

Brace yourself because this trailer is one of the best trailers I’ve seen in a while. DC and Warner Bros. Pictures released a new trailer of Green Lantern. The trailer is filled with lots of new footage and some great uses of the ring. I’ve never been a Green Lantern fan, but I may be a new recruit after seeing this film. It will be interesting to see how the film handles the exposition of the Green Lantern Corps. By the way exposition is what nearly murdered the beginning of Thor.

Leave your thoughts below in the comment box.

Directed by Martin Campbell, Green Lantern stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Geoffrey Rush, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett, Tim Robbins, Temuera Morrison, and Jay O. Sanders. This film slams into theaters June 17th 2011.

Official Synopsis:

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan (Reynolds). Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

It’s Complete Mayhem in New ‘Transformers Dark of the Moon’ 3D Trailer!

Today, Michael Bay and Paramount Pictures released a brand new trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon, but guess what? You’ll never guess… It’s in 3D! I’m not too sure why we need trailers in 3D especially since over 60% of the people who will actually see the preview will do so from the computer. It hurts my brain to even think about it.

Lets talk about the trailer. Everyone knows that Michael Bay has a great eye for action sequences, but most of the time where the film falls apart at is the scenes without the bots. Usually, the scenes are filled with corny jokes and horrible dialogue. No longer are people dazzled with the visual effects because we all know those will be absolutely stunning. The question is: Will Bay be able to deliver something with some substance in terms of characters and plot?

Directed by Michael Bay, Transformers: Dark of the Moon stars Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, Julie White, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, Tyrese Gibson, Kevin Dunn, Ken Jeong, and Patrick Dempsey.

NOTE: The film’s release date has been moved up from July 1st to June 29th. Everyone mark your memory calendars.

An Epic Adventure! The First Teaser Trailer for Spielberg’s ‘The Adventures of Tintin’ Has Arrived!

Here it is folks. Wit the release of two new posters word was going around fast that the trailer for Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson’s The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn would be here soon. No one knew it would be this soon. Everything about this trailer, from the music to the visual animation screams Spielberg. Can’t wait to here the entire soundtrack from composer John Williams. Wow, there are some extremely talented people attached to this film!

Directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by Peter Jackson, The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn stars Daniel Craig, Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg, Cary Elwes, and Nick Frost.

he Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, hits theaters December 23rd, 2011.

Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think.

Check Out New Trailer for the ‘Fright Night’ Remake

Over the weekend, DreamWorks released the first trailer for Fright Night. Directed by Craig Gillespie and penned by Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Fright Night stars Colin Farrell, Anton Yelchin, and David Tennant. Here’s a synopsis for the remake:

Official Synopsis:

Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all—he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the hottest girl in high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—and everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice. After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on his neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone that he’s telling the truth, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.

Narrator: In a time when there’s just not enough vampires in the media, we bring you yet another vampire film… but this time it’s different because Colin Farrell is the bloodsucker….” Great another remake in the horror/slasher+comedy genre. Not the least bit surprised, but I won’t go into explaining my frustration because I’ve done it so many times before. Still waiting for that original horror film. Is that too much to ask? Enough of these vampires! America knows how to run something in the ground.

The New ‘Cars 2′ Trailer Takes Us Around the World!

When Cars zoomed on the scene a couple of years ago, people thought Pixar had another hit on their stained green hands, but as the results came back from the box office, it turned out that not everything Pixar touches turns to gold.  And now the leading company in animation is ready to give us Cars 2.

Today, Disney released the last trailer for Cars 2, but this time everything from the explosions to the adventures is bigger. Much bigger. If you’ve been able to catch at least one of the 65 posters released for the film, you probably already know that the cars are headed to Japan, France, Russia, all over basically. But is bigger all ways better. Will this film suffer from the scattered brain syndrome? Looks like we’ll have to wait and see when Cars 2 hits theaters June 24, 2011.

Synopsis:

Star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2″ when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret spy mission, Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world. Adding to the fast-paced fun is a colorful new all-car cast that includes secret agents, menacing villains and international racing competitors.

Directed by John Lasseter, Cars 2 stars the voices of Owen Wilson, Larry The Cable Guy, Michael Caine, Emily Mortimer, Bonnie Hunt, Tony Shalhoub, Cheech Marin, Jason Isaacs, Joe Mantegna, Peter Jacobson, Thomas Kretschmann, Guido Quaroni, Lloyd Sherr, Paul Dooley, John Ratzenberger, Jenifer Lewis, and many more.

Show Down! Could ‘Horrible Bosses’ Out Perform ‘The Hangover Part 2′ at the Box Office?

Sure this summer has its fair share of sequel, prequels, and animated films, but what about the comedies? Well there are a couple on the radar: Bridesmaids, Super, and The Hangover Part 2 to name a few. But one film, which was almost forgotten about, now has everyone talking.

Today, Warner Bros. Pictures release a new trailer for their summer comedy titled, Horrible Bosses. Directed by Seth Gordon, the film stars Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis, Colin Farrell, Jamie Foxx, Kevin Spacey, and Julie Bowen.  Not to mention, Jason Mustafa, the sexy Old Spice guy, he’s even in this film.

Lets talk about the story: Three guys each have a boss who’s a pain in their rear-end. We’ve all had that one boss right? Well what if we had a chance to murder him/her for all the horrible things they put us through? OK… murdering is kind of harsh, but that’s what’s going down in Horrible Bosses. Alright so it’s a bit of dark humor thrown throughout… that’s what’s going to make this film great. Guess who’s playing the three bosses? Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell, and Kevin Spacey. It doesn’t get any better than that, especially when you see Jennifer Aniston.

So the question is: How could Horrible Bosses possibly be better than The Hangover Part 2—a film whose predecessor currently holds the title as one of the best comedies to date?

  1. Sure, being a sequel The Hangover Part 2 may have its devoted fans, but in a summer slammed packed with sequels and prequels, people are looking for something new and fresh.
  2. It’s three against three: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis versus  Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis. Question is, who can bring in the laughs?
  3. Horrible Bosses’ major weapon is Jennifer Aniston. Come on people she’s playing a sexy brunette dentist! Can The Hangover beat that? OK, well they do have that awesome monkey.
  4. The overall cast of The Hangover just can’t compare to that of Horrible Bosses... But then again we saw what can happen to a film that’s over saturated with A-list actors… Remember that awful movie titled Valentines Day? Whoever thought of putting Queen Latifah, Taylor Swift, and Taylor Lautner in a film together should be fired.

Alright, there’s a lot of different variables that have to be taken into consideration. What do you guys think? Will Horrible Bosses stomp The Hangover Part 2 at the box office? Or will there be no competition at all because The Hangover will continue its reign as one of the best comedies to date?

Horrible Bosses hits theaters July 8th, 2011.

The Hangover Part 2 hits theaters May 26th, 2011.

Check Out the ‘Real Steel’ Trailer Starring Hugh Jackman

Could Hugh Jackman have to carry yet another successful franchise? We’ll let you decide that for yourself. Today, DreamWorks released the first trailer for the robot boxing film titled, Real Steel, starring Hugh Jackman, Dakota Goyo, Evangeline Lilly, and Kevin Durand. Directed by Shawn Levy, the film shows what boxing will be like in the future, good-bye humans, hello 2,000 pound fighting robots. Here’s an official synopsis of the film from DreamWorks:

Official Synopsis:

A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech, “Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

I personally think this could be a great film. The reason I said “could” is because judging by the trailer alone the writing is not impressive. Maybe you’re asking yourself, does the writing have to be stellar since it’s geared toward entertaining the younger crowd? And my answer is, yes. Heck! Why not? I’m loving the cinematography and the beautiful shots, especially the first shot we get in the trailer of the skyline, but the design of those robots are horrid.

I was hoping this film would have the same tone of The Iron Giant, but I’m afraid that it may have missed the boat. What do guys think about the trailer?

Directed by Shawn Levy, Real Steel slams into theaters October 7th, 2011.

Check Out the Trailer For ‘Final Destination 5′… 5 Wow…

Yes people, the Final Destination franchise is still going, and going, and going… We all know what these films are comprised of: unknown actors and actresses, untimely and mis-fortunate deaths that leaves us all squirming in our seats, deaths as predictable as an episode of Dora the Explorer… blah blah. I really did think this franchise was over after the fourth installment.

And for the love of all things remotely scary can we please get some good horror/slasher/gore films going? I’m so tired of Saw, Final Destination, Paranormal Activity, Chainsaw Massacre, Scream, Jason, Freddie, Halloween, Hills Have Eyes… It’s 2011, please give us something fresh. Yet another trailer for Final Destination posted below:

Directed by Stephen Quale, Final Destination 5 hits theaters August 12th, 2011.

The Second Trailer For ‘Green Lantern’ Is A Smash Hit!

If there’s been any doubt in your mind whether or not to see DC’s only summer superhero flick, Green Lantern, your doubt will soon be washed away. Today, Warner Bros. Pictures via Yahoo Movies released a new trailer for Green Lantern. The trailer shows several characters and shots not seen previously. It also looks as if that 9 million added to the film’s budget came in handy. Everything from Parallax to Hal Jordan’s eyes behind the mask look enhanced since the last time we’ve seen footage. It’s also good to see Angela Bassett in a shot or two. I almost forgot she was even in the movie. Nevertheless, I will be at the theaters on opening night for Green Lantern. Will you?

Directed by Martin Campbell, Green Lantern stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Mark Strong, Peter Sarsgaard, Tim Robbins, Angela Bassett, Geoffrey Rush, Temuera Morrison, Taika Waititi, Jon Tenney, Michael Clarke Duncan, and Jay O. Sanders .

Green Lantern slams into theaters June 17th, 2011.

The New ‘Transformers Dark of the Moon’ Trailer Delivers the Goods!

Get ready because Michael Bay has raised the stakes for Sam Witwicky and the Transformers. Today, Paramount Pictures released the first full length trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Unfortunately, a lot of the trailer was a compilation of what we’ve seen in previous footage. While this one looks better than this first two, I’ll still be waiting for that one corny joke that ruins it all. Maybe Bay has learned his lesson, it certainly looks so with this trailer.

Directed by Michael Bay, Transformers: Dark of the Moon stars Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Kevin Dunn, Julie White, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, Ken Jeong, Patrick Dempsey, Alan Tudyk, John Turturro and Leonard Nimoy.

Dark of the Moon slams into theaters July 1, 2011.

New Trailer and Poster for ‘X-men: First Class’ Surfaces

Looks as if the guys at Fox are getting into gear with X-men:First Class. A new X-men trailer was released about two hours ago, and following that was a new poster. Let’s start of by saying this trailer is probably one of the best X-trailers to date. Where in the previous trailers we received a lot of action, this one gets right down the core of these mutants, their fear of being who they really are. There’s a lot of new footage we haven’t seen before, in particular shots of Mystique, Charles, and Erik. Plenty of dialogue as well, almost too much in my opinion.

Now on to the poster (posted below). I’m sorry, but it sucks, not as bad as the other poster released before this, but it’s still pretty bad. I’m not sure what’s going on in the marketing department for this film, but they should really pick it up. If I ending absolutely loving this film, you’re not going to find one poster hanging up anywhere in my room because they’re just that bad.

Directed by Matthew Vaughn and produced by Bryan Singer, X-men: First Class stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, January Jones, Kevin Bacon, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Oliver Platt, Caleb Landry Jones, Lucas Till, Edi Gathegi, Jason Flemyng,  Morgan Lily, Zoe Kravitz and Bill Bilner.

X-men: First Class hits theaters June 3rd, 2011.

New ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ Trailer Thursday; New Shockwave Photo Today

Today a new photo of the enormous mac-daddy sentient bot, Shockwave, was released to day via Apple. The photo only shows the upper-half of Shockwave, but what is seen is quite impressive. Apple will also release a brand new trailer for the film this Thursday. Hopefully it will be our first extensive look at the bots on Earth.

From the photos and the footage released thus far, Transformers: Dark of the Moon seems to be on a wider scale. Everything’s a lot bigger in this movie, the action, the bots, and the level of destruction. But bigger is not always better; in Transformers what most people care about is being able to distinguish the different bots when in battle.

Directed by Michael Bay, Transformers: Dark of the Moon hits theaters July 1, 2011.

Check Out the New Trailer for ‘Bridesmaids’

The second trailer for this summer’s—dare I say chick flick… we’ll go with bridal comedy— titled Bridesmaids came out today. Now the film hits theaters this summer, and in a summer full of battling bots, astonishing superheros, greedy pirates, and aliens, the women from the Bridesmaids could very well serve as a breather for all of us.

Official Synopsis:

This spring, producer Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, Superbad) and director Paul Feig (creator of Freaks and Geeks) invite you to experience Bridesmaids. Kristen Wiig leads the cast as Annie, a maid of honor whose life unravels as she leads her best friend, Lillian (Maya Rudolph), and a group of colorful bridesmaids (Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper) on a wild ride down the road to matrimony. Annie’s life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian’s maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. With one chance to get it perfect, she’ll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you’ll go for someone you love.

We’ve all seen the romantic comedy about weddings, or the battle of the brides (Bride Wars), but this film seems to stand on its own. Maybe I just haven’t seen enough bridal films, but this looks pretty hilarious. One, these bridesmaids have not received the Hollywood treatment, meaning that these are women that others could relate to. Two, it’s refreshing not to see the names of  Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts, or Kate Hudson plastered on the posters. Three, this is some pretty refreshing comedy. Check out the trailer below:

Will you see Bridesmaids in theaters?

Fan Made: Teaser Trailer for ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2′

Update:

It’s been confirmed that the “teaser” trailer was actually just a fan made video… Besides the sound balance, that was a pretty nice attempt from whoever made it. Let’s hope we get a real teaser soon, before we all go a little crazy.

Thanks to The Daily Blam, the moment we’ve all been waiting for is just about here… well at least until the entire full length trailer premiers. I’m not sure if this is the official teaser trailer, as it does seem a bit unfinished in terms of sound goes; it may have leaked on-line. It’s basically two minutes of a lot of stuff we’ve already seen, but there are a couple of new shots as well. It’s the Death Eaters vs Harry Potter, Hermoine, and Ron. The full length trailer, which should be out very soon,  could be one of the best trailers of 2011, as it should be. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is one of the most anticipated movies of 2011. Enough of my blabbering check out the first trailer for the last Harry Potter film. The end is near!

Directed by David Yates, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 hits theaters in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D July 15.

What do you guys think about the trailer? What’s your favorite moments?

Will Ferrell Takes On a Serious Role: Check Out the New Trailer for ‘Everything Must Go’

Will Ferrell is known for his comedic movies and his outlandish characters, however you can see him take on a serious role in the movie Everything Must Go. The film is an adaption from a short story titled “Why Don’t You Dance” by Raymond Carter. If you’d like to read it, it takes 10 minutes max: “Why Don’t You Dance”. The film was first released at the Toronto Film Festival.

From the trailer alone, with its light guitar playing in the back ground and the older guy makes friends with the young black kid, you can pick up the indie-movie vibe. I love a good indie film, but the problem I have with this one, from what I’ve seen in the trailer, is not that Will Ferrell is playing serious, but the way the source of the material was handled. The short story takes on a very serious and almost minister tone, while the movie has gimmicks that are supposed to make us laugh, but really aren’t that funny. For example, when Ferrell’s character gets slapped in the face with a water sprinkler. Really? That was funny when slapstick comedy was at it’s height in the early 1900′s…

Synopsis:

Adapted and directed by Dan Rush, and based on a short story by Raymond Carver, EVERYTHING MUST GO tells the story of NICK PORTER (WILL FERRELL) a career salesman whose days of being on top are long gone. The same day Nick gets fired, for falling off the wagon one last time, he returns home to discover his wife has left him, changed the locks on their suburban home and dumped all his possessions out on the front yard. Faced with his life imploding, Nick puts it all on the line – or more properly, on the lawn – reluctantly holding a yard sale that becomes a unique strategy for survival.

From Live Action College Game to Film: Check Out the Trailer for ‘Humans Versus Zombies’

Zombies, they’re as American as apple pie. And with a new zombie film coming out every four months nothing can be more fulfilling. Some zombie films are laughable while others are actually down right scary. What director Brian T. Jaynes has giving us in Humans vs. Zombies looks pretty interesting. Blood, gore, zombies, college kids, hot chicks, everything a proper zombie film needs.

Humans vs Zombies is a live action game mainly played on college campuses nationwide. The goal of the game is to turn everyone into a zombie or if you’re a human it’s to stay alive for a set amount of time. The game was created fall of 2005 by two students of Goucher College, Brad Sappington and Chris Weed. Both Weed and Sappington created a website soon after, announcing official rules and information to help other colleges organize their own game of Humans vs Zombies. And now their popular game gets turned into a film.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:

Students on summer break are exposed to a deadly virus, a neuroinvasive organism that is spread rapidly through direct human contact. The infected are enslaved by the invading “swarm” intelligence and driven by an insatiable appetite to consume human flesh. Returning home, the students spread the infection to their fellow classmates and other unsuspecting townspeople. One by one, more students fall victim to the plague, triggering an epidemic that spawns a horde of ravenous zombies.

The zombie horde grows and spreads quickly. Amidst the chaos a campus security guard, obsessed with conspiracy theories, leads a group of students to safety as they and a small band of uninfected townspeople set out to find other human survivors in an attempt to discover the source of the “zombie”

Humans Versus Zombies hits theaters June 1, 2011.

Check It Out: The New Trailer for ‘The Three Musketeers’

Forget the other 29 film versions of The Three Musketeers, it’s now time to focus on director Paul Anderson’s version. Today Summit Entertainment via Apple released the first trailer for the action-packed film, The Three Musketeers. So who are our Three Musketeers? Matthew Macfadyen is Athos, Ray Stevenson is Porthos, and Luke Evans is Aramis. Logan Lerman is our young and spunky savior, D’Artagnan. Other actors cast in the film include Orlando Bloom, Juno Temple, Milla Jovovich, Christoph Waltz, and Mads Mikkelsen.

I’ve haven’t heard much about this film, but it looks pretty interesting. Looks like it’ll do well. Who knows it could be Summit’s Pirate of the Caribbean. I remember when the first film came out no one expected it to do as well as it did at the box office, and boy were a lot of people shocked. We know Summit Entertainment is looking for another big film franchise  that can carry on the success of the Twilight franchise since it’s on its last book.

The Three Musketeers slams into theaters October 14, 2011. Check out the trailer below:

Video of the Day: The Banned ‘New Moon’ Trailer

Check out the video of the day. Why is Twilight so easy to make fun of? Is it due to Kristen Stewart’s awkward acting choices or the ridiculously cheesy lines. Either way it’s pretty freaking funny. Thanks Victoria K. @ East Carolina University for the suggestion!
