Following yesterday’s release of the new poster of Harry Potter, Warner Bros. Pictures released a new poster just for Hermoine Granger in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. It has the same design as Harry Potter’s but instead she has some friends standing in the background. Expect a poster for Ron Weasley next.

The studio also released a new TV spot for the film. In total this is the third in the TV spot lineup. Expect a lot more in the following weeks. “They’re coming. They’re coming…”

New Official Poster for ‘The Muppets’: They’re Closer Than You Think!

The Muppets are here! In fact “they’re closer than you think”! I just love that line. Very nice job by the marketing department over at Disney, but then again they are always flawless. Today Disney released the first official poster for The Muppets. While a lot of us—those born before 1995—will be one of the first in line on opening night, Disney will have to market these beloved puppets to a newer generation—a generation who gets their fuel and excitement from explosions, fast cars, and flashy objects. It’ll be interesting to see how The Muppets have changed with the time.

Directed by James Bobin, The Muppets hits theaters November 23rd, 2011.

This film stars Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Zach Galifianakis, Amy Adams, Selena Gomez, Niel Patrick Harrison, Jason Segel, Jack Black, Danny Trejo, Ed Helms, and Chris Cooper.

Official Synopsis:

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10-million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit the Frog reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.

New Posters Released For ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ & ‘Green Lantern’

Warner Bros. Pictures and Disney released new posters for their biggest blockbuster hits of summer 2011: Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Green Lantern. The promotion materials for these films have been outstanding. For both films, the posters have been great compared to some of their competitors.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

The poster above features new lovers Phillip Swift (Sam Clafflin) and mermaid Syrena (Astrid Berges-Frisbey). Here’s a character description of Phillip Swift:

Character Description: Phillip Swift:

Idealistic, courageous and fearless, this missionary defies even Blackbeard in an attempt to rescue the terrible pirate’s soul.

Philip Swift is on a mission completely unlike the pirates, scalawags, kings and sailors all in pursuit of the Fountain of Youth. His is a mission of salvation, and even when taken prisoner by Blackbeard and ruthlessly tortured, Philip’s spirit remains unbroken. But something stirs inside of his heart as well as his soul when he encounters the mermaid he calls Syrena on the quest for the Fountain of Youth—feelings which prove that the path to real deliverance may lie beyond the Good Book he carries with him.

Directed by Rob Marshall, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides hits theaters May 20th, 2011.

Green Lantern

Does Green Lantern really need any commentary? Just feast on its awesomeness.

Directed by Martin Campbell, Green Lantern hits theaters  June 17th 2011.

New Trailer and Poster for ‘X-men: First Class’ Surfaces

Looks as if the guys at Fox are getting into gear with X-men:First Class. A new X-men trailer was released about two hours ago, and following that was a new poster. Let’s start of by saying this trailer is probably one of the best X-trailers to date. Where in the previous trailers we received a lot of action, this one gets right down the core of these mutants, their fear of being who they really are. There’s a lot of new footage we haven’t seen before, in particular shots of Mystique, Charles, and Erik. Plenty of dialogue as well, almost too much in my opinion.

Now on to the poster (posted below). I’m sorry, but it sucks, not as bad as the other poster released before this, but it’s still pretty bad. I’m not sure what’s going on in the marketing department for this film, but they should really pick it up. If I ending absolutely loving this film, you’re not going to find one poster hanging up anywhere in my room because they’re just that bad.

Directed by Matthew Vaughn and produced by Bryan Singer, X-men: First Class stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, January Jones, Kevin Bacon, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Oliver Platt, Caleb Landry Jones, Lucas Till, Edi Gathegi, Jason Flemyng,  Morgan Lily, Zoe Kravitz and Bill Bilner.

X-men: First Class hits theaters June 3rd, 2011.

Pixar Releases New Retro ‘Cars 2′ Posters

Today Pixar released several new posters featuring some of the new cars on the block in Cars 2. The film will bring back some old and introduce some new cars as they go on a very Bond-like adventure. Check out all the new stuff below:

Official Synopsis:

Star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2? when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret spy mission, Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world. Adding to the fast-paced fun is a colorful new all-car cast that includes secret agents, menacing villains and international racing competitors.

Miguel Camino

He first caught his home country’s attention by participating in the infamous Running of the Bulldozers. His flair, style and speed as a toreador in the dozer ring has inspired a generation of young bulldozer fighters, and soon that same speed and verve turned headlights of fans and competitors alike on the Grand Touring Sport racing circuit. Bearing the #5 and the fiery colors of the Spanish flag, Miguel Camino is hoping to race his way into more hearts at the World Grand Prix.

Max Schnell

An avid amateur racer, Max would practice alone in the back roads of the dense Black Forest – a trek that eventually caught the eye of a racing team owner. Soon Max was on a professional circuit, bearing the #4, and as his horsepower increased, he converted himself to carbon fiber, dropping his weight and getting into prime racing shape. He’s won more races at Motorheimring than any other World Torque Champion League car in history. A naturally brilliant engineer, he used logic and analytics to refine his build, and plans to approach the World Grand Prix in the same perfectly calculated manner.

Cars 2 hits theaters June 24, 2011.

Check Out the New ‘Green Lantern’ Poster

Warner. Bros released a new poster for Green Lantern. I had little interest in this film until I saw the four minute WonderCon clip. The cinematography and the CGI looks great from what was shown. I also enjoy the fact that the film doesn’t take itself too seriously. Then again what do you expect when Hal Jordan is played by Ryan Reynolds? I have to admit Green Lantern is probably one of my must sees this summer. What do you guys think about the poster?

Directed by Martin Campbell, Green Lantern hits theaters June 17th.

“A Mermaid, Jack”: Check Out the New Poster for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’

“A mermaid, Jack” is what you need to get to the Fountain of Youth, without her you’ll never be young again. Or at least it seems that way. We’ll have to wait till the movie hits theaters this summer. Disney released another poster for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, but this time featuring three sexy photo-shopped mermaids. With the painted look going on, it resembles the first poster that was released for the film. Be careful, staring into one of their eyes for too long could have you sinking to the bottom of the river.

Directed by Rob Marshall, the film stars Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Geoffrey Rush, Ian McShane, Kevin R. McNally,  Sam Claflin, and Astrid Berges-Frisbe.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides hits theaters May 20, 2011.

Check Out the New IMAX Poster for ‘Thor’: Best Poster To Date

Today Marvel released the official IMAX poster for Thor. Thor is falling behind in terms of being a must see film this summer. The film’s marketing, trailers, and posters just don’t compare to the advertising that I’ve seen for the other superhero films being released this summer. However, this is the best poster Marvel has released to date for the “god of thunder”.

Official Synopsis:

Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, “Thor,” which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh, Thor strikes theaters everywhere May 6, 2011.

Check Out the New Poster for ‘The Hangover: Part 2′

Today Warner Bros. released the poster for The Hangover: Part 2. By the way, Ed Helms looks amazing with the Mike Tyson face tattoo. The poster is awesome, but I’m waiting for the first full length trailer to be released. Check out the poster and be sure to leave a comment below.

Synopsis:

A follow-up to the record-breaking hit comedy The Hangover, the sequel finds Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and Doug (Justin Bartha) traveling to exotic Thailand for Stu’s wedding. After the unforgettable bachelor party in Las Vegas, Stu is taking no chances and has opted for a safe, subdued pre-wedding brunch. However, things don’t always go as planned. What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but what happens in Bangkok can’t even be imagined.

Directed by Todd Phillips, The Hangover: Part 2 hits theaters May 26, 2011.

New Poster for ‘Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2: “It All Ends Here”

Can a Harry Potter poster be any bloodier? This is an intense poster people, and I can’t wait till this film hits theaters on July 15th. There’s another poster that shows Hogwarts on fire, but that one hasn’t been released online yet. For now you have this one to gawk over. Enjoy!

Directed by David Yates, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 hits theaters in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D July 15.

Penelope Cruz is Marked in Her Poster for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’

Disney’s marketing team for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has been sailing fast with only one thing on their mind—promotion, promotion, promotion.

I’ve been waiting for this poster for a while. And I couldn’t be any happier. Disney released a character poster for Penelope Cruz’s sassy and dangerous sword swinging female pirate, Angelica. You better believe we’ll all get to see Penelope get down and dirty and kick some zombie tail. The poster itself is similar to the character poster released a couple days ago for Captian Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp). What’s different is the two swords, which seems to be either guarding her heart… or her breast. Either way you look at it, it looks to be a no go for Jack Sparrow.

Directed by Rob Marshall, the film stars Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Geoffery Rush, Ian McShane, Kevin R. McNally,  Sam Claflin, and Astrid Berges-Frisbe.

Another New Poster for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’

Seems as if pirates have been on everyone’s minds lately. Today Disney releases a new poster, not to be confused with the one that was released last week. This poster features Captain Jack Sparrow himself, close up and personal. No mermaids, waves, or ships. It’s just Jack Sparrow and his guy-liner. The poster is nothing too different from what we’ve already. What I’m waiting for is a poster that features Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), Angelica (Penelope Cruz) and Black Beard (Ian McShane).

Directed by Rob Marshall, the film stars Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Geoffery Rush, Ian McShane, Kevin R. McNally,  Sam Claflin, and Astrid Berges-Frisbe. Check out the poster below:

Check Out the New Poster for ‘Super 8′

Today we received the first trailer for J.J. Abram’s Super 8. The poster,  along with the trailer, doesn’t reveal much as you take a look at it. There’s a silhouette of the landscape and clouds above. What’s interesting is the sideways view of the picture, which does a great job with connecting the trailer with the poster. Can you figure out how the trailer relates to the poster? Post below.

Directed by J.J. Abrams and produced by Steven Spielberg, Super 8 stars Elle Fanning, Kyle Chandler, Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, Gabriel Basson, Joel Courtney, Ryan Lee, Zach Mills and Amanda Michalka.

Super 8 hits theaters June 10, 2011. Check out the poster below:

Two More Posters for ‘X-men: First Class’!

The official Facebook fan page  for X-men: First Class just released two new posters for the film. One features Charles’ face in a silhouette of Professor X’s body, and the other one features Erik’s face in a silhouette of Magneto, both posters are against a white background.

I don’t really like these two posters. They seem very plain to me and kind of sloppy. The shape of Magneto’s helmet looks lopsided. Maybe I’m being picky. What do you guys think?

Directed by Matthew Vaughn, produced by Bryan Singer, X-men: First Class hits theaters June 3, 2011.

New Poster for the Vampire Action Movie ‘Priest’

Screen Gems released a new poster for their vampire action movie Priest. Having seen the first trailer which premiered several months ago I can tell you these vampires do not glitter in the sunlight, nor do they have perfect hair. These are real vampires people.

Here’s a synopsis IMDB:

Priest a post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller, is set in an alternate world — one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church.

When his niece is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on a quest to find her before they turn her into one of them. He is joined on his crusade by his niece’s boyfriend, a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess who possesses otherworldly fighting skills.

Directed by Scott Stuart, Priest stars Paul Bettany, Cam Gigandet, Maggie Q, Karl Urban, Lily Collins, and Stephen Moyer.

The film hits theaters May 13 2011. Check out the trailer below:

New Motion Poster for “Conan the Barbarian”!

Lionsgate released the first poster for its summer action movie, Conan the Barbarian. Inspired by Frank Frazetta, the poster shows Conan standing on a pile of skulls with clouds rolling above him.

The concept of a motion poster is pretty cool. Maybe I haven’t been paying attention, but this is my first time seeing one, and I like it. It has sort of a 3D look to it and adding music to the image is awesome. Hopefully, we’ll see many more of these motion posters in the future.

Directed by Marcus Nispel, Conan the Barbarian stars Jason Mamoa, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Bob Sapp, and Leo Howard. The film hits theaters in 3D and 2D August 19, 2011. What do you guys think of the poster? Post your thoughts below.
