‘Skyfall’ Teaser Trailer Debuts

“Some men are coming to kill us. We’re going to kill them first.”

James Bond fans woke up to a treat this morning: Sony has released the first teaser trailer for Sam Mendes’s Skyfall.

At close to a minute and a half long, the trailer starts off a little slow with some dialogue exchange (a word association game) then picks up speed like a de-railing train. The trailer doesn’t reveal a whole lot, but it proves that Daniel Craig still knows how to fire a gun, and look like a badass while doing it.

‘Skyfall’ Teaser Trailer

In the 23rd film of the franchise, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

The series was revamped in 2006 with one of my favorite Bond films, Casino Royale. Due to the writer’s strike, 2008′s easily forgettable Quantum of Solace left many fans, including James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, a little less than enthusiastic. Will Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Revolutionary Road) be able to regain viewer’s interest? With shooting locations in London, Turkey, Scotland and China, the film promises to be a visually stunning one. Details for Skyfall are being kept tightly under wraps, but in a statement producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli promise, “We’ve a great script, an extraordinary cast and an incredibly talented creative team for this latest James Bond adventure.”

The first teaser poster for Skyfall was released last week. If you haven’t seen it yet, make sure to check it out here.

Let’s hear what you have to say. Did you enjoy the teaser? What would you like to see more of in future trailers? What would you like to see less of?

Skyfall stars Daniel Craig, Judy Dench, Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe, Ralph Fiennes, Helen McCrory and Ben Whishaw. This film hits theaters November 9th, 2012.
