Poster Roundup: ‘Hitchcock’, ‘Anna Karenina’, & ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2′

Several new posters were released this week for three films some may and may not be looking forward to. At the very least, many cinephiles and book lovers should enjoy these film’s immensely – Hitchcock, Anna Karenina, & The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 – that is unless you despise Historical Romance novels, Alfred Hitchcock, and/or smelly, warm werewolves and pretty boy vampires, but I digress.

‘Hitchcock’

It’s a film about England’s greatest filmmaker, Hitchcock (Anthony Hopkins), making Psycho. Based on Stephen Rebello’s novel ”Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho”, the plot revolves around the master of thrill and suspense and the relationship he had with his wife, Alma Reville (Helen Mirren), and cinema. Other cast members include Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh and Jessica Biel as Vera Miles. Both Leigh and Miles were leads in Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960).

The new poster for the drama pays homage to the theatrical poster for Hitchcock’s Psycho, but instead of blues and yellows, we’re presented with a bright red, black, and tan. The same splinter effect is present, but just with more actors on the poster. Check it out below:

Directed by Sacha Gervasi, Hitchcock stars Helen Mirren, Anthony Hopkins, Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, Ralph Macchio, Danny Huston, Toni Collette, and James D’Arcy. This film will receive a limited release November 23rd, and is expect to have a wider release weeks later.

‘Anna Karenina’

Who knew so many different types of love existed? But according to the posters from director Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina, eight different categories of love exist — pure love, scandalous love, dutiful love, nurturing love, romantic love, forbidden love, enduring love, and maternal love — each swarming and manipulating the characters’ lives in this Leo Tolstoy masterpiece.

Reviews have already been released for the film, and critics are raving about Karenina. There’s not a lot of buzz for the film regarding Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations; however, I do suspect it could receive nominations for Best Costuming and possibly Best Leading and/or Best Supporting Actress, but that may be a stretch. The people over at Playlist said the film was,  ”‘fascinatingly theatrical and thrillingly cinematic’, it’s one we definitely recommend when it rolls out stateside starting November 16th.”

The film is just staked with amazing talent from both the cast and the crew. Keira Knightly, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jude Law, Kelly Macdonald, and Matthew Macfadyen lead the film. Check out the posters below!

‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2′

I don’t think we’ve seen a poster with the cast for Breaking Dawn – Part 2 in a standing position since the first theatrical poster was released several months ago. At least this time they’re not running towards us with their battle faces on, but instead are facing off, in what’s supposed to be an intimidating stance.

In other news, KStew and Rpatz are indeed working things out. Apparently, the two were seen reigniting their love in fields of flowers as KStew tried desperately to get her diamond encrusted man back just in time for the worldwide premiere of the final installment. On a serious note, only time will tell whether these two are faking their reunion or have actually decided to work it all out.
