Two new posters for two of the biggest summer blockbusters hit the net yesterday — Battleship and Men in Black 3. I’m looking forward to both films, Battleship more than Men in Black 3. I think the Men in Black franchise has run out of options and the studio is just dipping a bucket into a dry well, but I could be wrong. Within the past year, the sequels have been surprisingly good, with the exception of The Hangover 2, and several others. It’ll be interesting to see what Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith have up their sleeves this time.
This new Men in Black 3 poster is a huge improvement from the first one we received several months ago. I wasn’t even sure if the guy in the first poster was Will Smith, not to mention the headache I received from staring at the damn thing for so long. Standing next to Will Smith is Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) and younger Agent K (Josh Brolin), which gives hint to the film’s time traveling components.
Not much to say about the Battleship poster. It’s got Taylor Kitsch plastered all over it… basically it’s your cliche character poster. Still not completely sold on the film. I may have to see another trailer. The fact that it resembles Transformers is nauseating, plus with the news about Transformers 4 heading into production I don’t think I want to see anymore robots for a while. Check out the poster below and let us know your thoughts.
Men in Black 3 slams into theaters May 25, 2012, and Battleship hits theaters May 18, 2012.
‘Men in Black 3′ Poster #2
Official Men in Black 3 Synopsis:
In Men in Black 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.
Official ‘Battleship’ Synopsis
Peter Berg (Hancock) produces and directs Battleship, an epic-scaled action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Inspired by Hasbro’s classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper’s fiancee; Alexander Skarsgard as Hopper’s older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper’s crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone’s superior (and Sam’s father), Admiral Shane.
