New ‘Dark Shadows’ Trailer is FREAKING AWESOME

At least, that was what my first thought was after seeing it. Dark Shadows looks like the perfect mix of the campy goth that Tim Burton does so very well. The dark humor is present in every aspect of the trailer. From the perfect 70′s song choices to Johnny Depp’s ghoulish vampire, it absolutely looks like the epitome of all the things that I love in life. I haven’t ever seen the show that it’s based on, but I’m assuming that if Johnny Depp is as in love with it as he’s claimed in several interviews that it is something worth bringing to the big screen. Hopefully the tone of the trailer accurately portrays Burton’s vision for the remake of the 70′s era t.v. soap. If it’s true to the movie then I will be smiling through the entire midnight premiere on May 11th. But don’t take my word for it, here’s the trailer right here:

As you can see, it’s got the typical Burton cast of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham-Carter (two of my favorite people). Michelle Pfeiffer (Batman Returns, What Lies Beneath, Stardust) is the matriarch of the family as Elizabeth Collins Stoddard. Her brother Roger Collins is played by Johnny Lee Miller, and her daughter is non other than Kick-Ass’s assasin Chloë Grace Moretz. Jackie Earl Haley (from Watchmen and Nightmare on Elm Street) plays the groundskeeper. With such a great cast and an amazing visual landscape courtesy of Mr. Tim Burton, this movie is going to be great.

What do you guys think about the trailer? As excited about the movie as I am? Are there any fans of the original soap that want to comment?

My two favorite people…
