New ‘Dark Knight Rises’ IMAX TV Spot + Brand New Pics!

Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. Pictures gave Yahoo! and Superherohype an exclusive look into The Dark Knight Rises with several new images and an impressive IMAX TV spot. As if we needed any more reasons to see the film in theaters come July 20th. There’s nothing like more footage to get your blood rushing in anticipation.

The new IMAX spot is more than impressive as the cut-away shots sync themselves with both the fist-swinging, roundhouse kicking action and the music’s rhythmic beat, all hinting to just how epic Bane’s involvement will be. There’s a couple new shots thrown in, but you’ll have to play close attention. The new pictures give a us closer look at Selena’s full outfit as Catwoman; hopefully the utility belt isn’t just an accessory, but knowing Nolan, any arrangement of weapons and gadgets could be wrapped around her waist. The second picture features Batman looking out from top of the bat-pod.

Will TDKR Be Worth Seeing in IMAX?

I‘m not one to cross universes or compare DC to Marvel (it’s a time-wasting conversation), but The Amazing Spider-Man absolutely gave a whole new meaning to 3D in the superhero genre. People who have seen Marc Webb’s impressive reboot in IMAX and on 3D screens are now expecting more. Even watching The Amazing Spider-Man trailer on regular screens, one knew that Marc had 3D in mind when filming. I haven’t seen much of that in The Dark Knight Rises, not to say it isn’t there. But if I’m paying nearly double the price then there better be a reason why.

Where’s Marion Cotillard & Juno Temple?

On a side note, there’s two women that I’d love to see more of in the promotional footage — Marion Cotillard and Juno Temple. While Selina Kyle’s presence will bring a much needed strong female hero to the franchise, I’m intrigued to find out exactly where Cotillard and Temple fall in the grand scheme of things. Check out the TV spot and let us know what you think in the comments below.
