Harrison Ford and Abigail Breslin Join ‘Ender’s Game’ | Reel Movie Nation

Harrison Ford (Cowboy’s & Aliens)

There’s been rumors flying left and right about Gavin Hood’s latest film, Ender’s Game, a film adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s popular novel series. What was a rumor has now magically transformed into a stone cold fact — Harrison Ford will join the cast of Ender’s Game. And joining him is Little Miss Sunshine’s, Abigail Breslin.

Set in the future, the award winning YA novels tell the story of an Earth that has come together after an alien invasion. In a fight for survival, Ender Wigin (Asa Butterfield), a young warfare genius, is humanity’s last surviving hope.

Ford and Abigail join a prestigious cast and crew consisting of director Gavin Hood (Tsotsi, X-men Origins: Wolverine), Oscar nominee, Hailee Steinfield (True Grit) and the talented Asa Butterfield (Hugo, Boy in the Stripped Pajamas).

Ford plays Colonel Hyram Graff, who’s in charge of training the young male recruits at a military academy specialized in defeating the alien forces. Breslin plays Ender’s older sister, while Steinfield plays Petra Arkanian, Ender’s best friend and right hand.

The only piece to this amazing puzzle that I’m skeptical about is Gavin Hood. His work in Tsotsi was amazing, I’ll give him that, lots of beautiful shots and cinematography.  However, his direction with X-men Origins: Wolverine left a bad taste in my mouth. It was all very cliched and sloppy, but hey, we can’t win them all, can we?

Directed by Gavin Hood, Ender’s Game hits theaters everywhere March 15, 2013.
