Every time I think of Prometheus, that erie and equally epic music from the latest trailer comes to mind. As the release date for Prometheus nears, the studio and director Ridley Scott have been busy chipping away at fans’ curiosity with trailers, character posters, TV spots and more posters. In Entertainment Weekly‘s latest issue, Scott gave the magazine an exclusive inside look with 17… yes 17 never before seen pictures.
Those hunting for clues to the mysterious plot line won’t find any here; however, what you will find is one attractive cast in skin-tight, intricately designed spacesuits. The photos feature behind the scene shooting, character shots and landscapes. Fans of Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace are in for a treat, as the three are featured heavily throughout. Why is this the first time I’m realizing this film has some color besides steel grey, deep blues, black and platinum blonde coming from Fassbender and Theron’s hair? The orange piping detail on those suits are really neat! If there’s one thing we do know, it’s that Hollywood’s costumers love some micro-textured outfits… it appears to be the latest craze.
Ridley Scott’s been as secretive, if not more, about the plot as Christopher Nolan’s been about The Dark Knight Rises – both being this year’s most anticipated films. Here’s what we’ve been able to gather from previous footage: Prometheus takes place years before the events of Scott’s Alien, the film that started it all. In an effort to find the origins of humanity, the crew led by Noomi Rapace’s Elizabeth Shaw, board the vessel Prometheus, in route for the same planet featured in Alien; however, instead of discovering humanity’s beginning, they discover what could be humanity’s end.
Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Logan Marshall-Green, Sean Harris, Emun Elliot and Rafe Spall, Prometheus slams into theaters June 8th. Will you be ready?
