This past week on journalist and author Anderson Cooper’s talk show, he had a rather interesting guest. It seems that although Cooper has built his reputation on staying cordial in extreme situations like war zones, this lady was too crazy, even for the Coop.
His interviewee was British mother of three, Sarah Burge, more commonly known as “The Human Barbie” because of her extreme obsession with plastic surgery. On the show, she admits to teaching her pre-pubescent children to pole dance, and giving her 15 year old daughter Botox injections on her forehead to stop from sweating during dance competitions. Even Cooper cannot really keep a straight face when questions whether or not people are supposed to sweat when dancing.
Although I’ve definitely seen some worse people in his interviews, this lady was top-notch crazy. While Anderson did his best to keep his composure, he ultimately made the on-air decision to terminate the interview early as he noted Ms. Burge was, “dreadful.” After watching the full interview, I certainly do not disagree with Cooper but there has been some controversy over his actions.
Many feel that his producers invited this woman on the show, and as a guest, he should’ve treated her as such. Cooper does admit that he tries to be as polite as possible to his guest, and that he really regrets having her on the show.
