Two New ‘John Carter’ TV Spots & Posters: The Battle Continues!

Keep on pushing it, Disney! You’re almost there! After about three weeks of hardcore promotion, John Carter may have finally started stirring people’s interest. But Disney still has two whole months to sell the title, so all is not lost.  Fast food campaign anyone? They better start selling McDonald or Burger King toys. That’ll get ‘em talking for sure!

Disney released two new tv spots and several new banners promoting the film’s IMAX release. Both promo materials feature John Carter facing off against two giant, fury beast that bleed blue. I’m still highly optimistic about this film. So what if the film looks like Star Wars and Avatar had a baby. At least the damn thing looks entertaining. One question/concern: Why aren’t we seeing the some type of love connection between John Cater and Dejah Thoris?

Directed by Andrew Stanton, John Carter stars Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Daryl Sabara, Polly Walker, Bryan Cranston, Thomas Hayden Church, and Willem Dafoe. The film hits theaters March 9, 2012.

Official Synopsis:

From Academy Award(R)-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes “JohnCarter”–a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). “JohnCarter” is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain JohnCarter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.
