Those lucky enough to attend Comic-Con last week got a sneak peak at some footage from the upcoming Zack Snyder Superman reboot, Man of Steel. If you see The Dark Knight Rises this weekend, you will be treated to the Man of Steel teaser trailer, narrated by either Pa Kent (Kevin Costner) or Jor-El (Russell Crowe), depending on where you see the movie.
If you don’t feel like waiting to go see the trailers in the theater, you’re in luck! Today, Warner Bros. released the first of what will probably be many teaser trailers for next summer’s Man of Steel. The first trailer (courtesy of Yahoo!) features Kevin Costner’s voiceover:
The second trailer (courtesy of MSN) features Russell Crowe’s voiceover:
A child sent to Earth from a dying planet is adopted by a couple in rural Kansas. Posing as a journalist, he uses his extraordinary powers to protect his new home from an insidious evil.
Honestly, I like the trailer, even though there’s really no action until the last couple seconds. It’s a relief to me to see that Snyder is staying away from shooting everything on a green screen (300). From what I hear, Snyder is taking a page out of director Christopher Nolan‘s (also a producer and co-writer of the film) book and going for more practical effects rather than CGI everything. I’m still a little iffy about Henry Cavill playing Superman, though. I’m going to have to see the movie before I can decide if I like him or not.
What do you have to say?
What do you think of the trailer? Do you think Henry Cavill is the right choice for the title character? Can he play both Superman and Clark Kent equally well? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
