Daniel Radcliffe has made a fortune and a name as Harry Potter, but now that the franchise is done filming, the question is what’s next for the young British actor? Apparently, Variety reported that Radcliffe has signed on to The Amateur Photographer.
He’s already busy with a Broadway roles in “How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” and he’s starring in a new thriller titled The Woman in Black. Before, that he showed off his pale body in the 2007 revival of Equus on Broadway.
The Amateur Photographer, directed by Christopher Monger, best known for Temple Grandin, is a period piece set in the 70′s:
“The Amateur Photographer” follows a young man who discovers his passion for photography after the citizens of a sleepy New England mill town ask him to photograph their most intimate moments. According to Variety, he “battles local authorities while bringing a bit of a velvet revolution to the town.”–MTV News
I have a lot of respect for film actors who can perform on the big stage. Not that film acting isn’t difficult, but it takes a whole different set of skills to be able to get in front of an audience and perform live for countless nights. Many child/teen actors find it difficult to find work once they’ve starred in a major franchise, but for Radcliffe it’s as easy as flying his Nimbus 2001.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 premiers July 15th, 2011.
