Earlier today, January Jones sat down with MTV and talked about the costumes she’s had to wear as Emma Frost. As most of us know, Emma can be quite revealing at times, showing off her curves left and right. Emma Frost aka White Queen is sexy but classy. She’s a dangerous psychic mutant that also has the power to transform her skin into diamond, protecting her from offensive attacks.

What I’ve liked about the pictures that we’ve seen so far of Emma Frost is that Matthew Vaughn isn’t getting too carried away with the idea of showing off her body. In the past, studios have felt as if sex appeal is needed to sell a superhero movie starring a female (Elektra, Catwoman). But the females in the X-men films haven’t needed sex appeal to make them appealing to the crowds. The women of the X-men, such as Storm, Jean Grey, Rogue, etc., are loved because of their power and character, not because of how sexy they look on screen. Let’s hope this idea keeps up in X-men: First Class.

According to MTV, this is what January Jones had to say about her costumes:

“I’m in that a lot,” Jones said of the “sparkly bikini-top thing” seen in the leaked cast photo. “I have a lot of very interesting costumes in that movie. So I’m in that one a lot.”

“That one has a cape sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t. I have a lot of boots. I have a lot of leather. A lot of sparkly stuff. A lot of big hair,” she explained, adding that her wardrobe will likely please Frost fans everywhere.

“I really like [the one in the leaked photo] because I really like the cape. It was really great,” she said. “I didn’t get to wear the cape as much as I wanted to because the CGI when I turn into diamonds was difficult. But, there’s nothing like a cape that makes you feel really tough. There’s something [about having something] following behind you.”
