2012 is not only a year full of superheros, sequels, reboots and remakes; Hollywood is jumping into a new phase: turning popular disney and classic fan favorites into 3D, hoping in one last effort to bring in the dough. Last year, The Lion King was the first to receive the re-release, and remained king of the box office for two weeks straight. This year, 3 more 90s films, Titanic, Beauty and the Beast, and Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace, will step into the light and come to life before our eyes.
Thanks to Kino Gallery, five new posters promoting The Phantom Menace, hit the net earlier today. Three of the posters feature Darth Maul, in all his glory, looming over Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon Jinn, Anakin Skywalker and Queen Amidala. One of the posters feature the classic pod-racing photo, and another features a close up of Darth Maul with the quote, “At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi” over his face. These 5 posters are a huge improvement from the first poster released several months ago.
Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace originally slammed into theaters May, 18, 1999. The film will hit theaters again in 3D on February 10, 2012.
What do you guys think about the new posters? Like ‘em or hate ‘em?
